The eco-town development private investment project is a project to install a sewage treatment facility, a sludge resource recovery facility, and a biogasification facility for organic waste resources (food logistics waste) in the basement of a 51,046㎡ site in Yongin Respia, Pogok-eup, Cheoin-gu. The city has been promoting since 2018 to expand urban infrastructure. Multi-purpose sports facilities and parks are also created on the ground to improve the living environment and quality of life of nearby residents.
It is based on the content that the city and private business operators will carry out the project in a profit-sharing private investment (BTO-a) method in which losses and profits are shared. In the case of the BTO-a method, the city has been actively promoting it because it can reduce the risk of construction and operation and reduce operating costs and user fees after completion.
When the project is completed, Yongin Respia's daily sewage treatment capacity will increase to 68,000 tons, an increase of 12,000 tons from the previous 56,000 tons. In addition, it will be able to treat 220 tons of sludge and 250 tons of food waste. In particular, it is expected that the living environment of residents will be improved with various living convenience facilities, and budget savings will be achieved by self-processing of food waste that has been entrusted to a private disposal company. It is expected.
Along with this, it is expected that development projects in the eastern region, such as the Cheoin-gu area, which were delayed due to lack of sewage treatment capacity, will gain momentum. When it is completed, it will greatly contribute to the development of the eastern region of underdeveloped cities and the environmental preservation of 1.1 million large cities.”
